Volunteers The Series was created by a handful of dedicated volunteer firefighters, committed to telling the story of our sacrifice, passion and commitment to protect our home communities. Through the series we want to increase public awareness, increase support and donations, and show the world how committed we are to being there for them in there darkest hours. We want the public to think of us before they need us, and not just when they need us the most. That's our goal, and our commitment to our fans. We want to focus on telling the story of these brave men and women for this simple fact: Support your local volunteer fire/ems department BEFORE you need them. Make a commitment to personally thank a volunteer firefighter or EMS responder. They will always be there for you, whether you thank them or not! The mission of VTS: It is our goal to increase public awareness and support by telling the stories of these brave men and women. We want to make a difference in each and every volunteer fire/ems house in the world. Whether it means increased donations or just shifting the public paradigm, our purpose is to see volunteer houses thrive, decrease LODD's and see that ALL volunteer company's have the funding to continue to properly support the communities they serve. If we can make a difference in just one volunteer fire/ems house, we will have been successful! "You do not have to be paid to be a professional". We love our career guys, they do an amazing job, but it would be nice to show the world one of the only exceptions to the phrase: "You get what you pay for".
